Mrs. Roshani Rasaili, a talented Nepali folk , duet and lok pop singer, is known for her soulful renditions of Nepali songs. Born on November 5, 1984 in the Baglung District of Gandagi Province in Nepal, she currently resides in Kathmandu. Originally named Roshani B.K., she is the daughter of Mr. Ram Bahadur Bishowkarma and Dil Maya Bishowkarma. Happily married to Ramesh Shivashankar, the couple is blessed with a beautiful daughter named Shuhana Shivashankar.

From a young age, Mrs. Roshani had a deep passion for music, finding joy in its enchanting melodies. She is particularly fond of the violin, flute, madal, and harmonia, as they create a symphony of emotions within her. Folk music holds a special place in her heart, as it brings her immense pleasure. With a keen intellect and a profound sense of artistry, she weaves words and emotions together to create captivating folk songs that resonate with people’s hearts.

Despite the distance, her parents made sure she received a quality education. They enrolled her in the “Primary School, Bhakunde Lamidada,” which was a thirty-minute journey from their home. This early foundation nurtured her love for music and paved the way for her successful career as a singer.

Mrs. Roshani Rasaili’s dedication to her craft and her desire to bring joy to people through her music is truly admirable. Her songs are a testament to her talent and passion, and she continues to enchant audiences with her heartfelt performances.

Until grade 5, she pursued her studies at a certain institution, and subsequently, she completed her schooling at a nearby establishment called “Bhairab Secondary School,” successfully obtaining her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) in 2007 A.D. Following this, she relocated to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, she pursued her higher education in Music at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Renowned as an influential figure among the youth, she exemplifies the notion that unwavering focus and diligent effort lead to inevitable success. Mrs. Rasaili gained prominence in the Nepali music industry during a time when female singers were not widely recognized. Her debut song, a duet and folk composition titled “Kati Palayo Dali,” was released in 2009, propelling her to overnight stardom. Collaborating with over 100 male singers, she released her first solo album, “Mutubijhaune,” in the same year. With her proficiency in Nepali language and her expertise in duet and folk singing, she has established herself as one of the foremost artists in the Nepali music industry. Possessing a positive demeanor, she effortlessly engages with people, showcasing both her talent and humility. Her performances are captivating and entertaining, as singing is her primary skill. She ensures that her audience is pleased, as her appeal transcends borders, captivating listeners globally with her delightful, serene, and alluring music.

Rasaili has received international award 2021 .she was bestowed with the prestigious “Best Women Leadership Excellence Award in the Music & Entertainment Industry Category” at The South Asian Business Excellence Awards, a grand event held on the 10th of December 2021. This remarkable ceremony took place under the esteemed patronage of the Honorable Maithripala Sirisena, the former President of Sri Lanka. The awards were a testament to the exceptional achievements of individuals who have surpassed all expectations in their respective fields, representing the vibrant cultures of eight South Asian nations. Notable dignitaries such as Md. Reyad Hossain, the Counsellor (Political) of the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, and esteemed State Ministers including the Honorable Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Member of Parliament Honorable Mr. Shantha Bandara, and the Cabinet Minister Honorable Mahinda Amaraweera graced the occasion with their presence, adding an air of distinction to the event.

The talented singer has been recognized for her exceptional skills in various music genres. She was awarded the title of best duet and folk singer of the year 2021 for her song “SALI BHENA” at the STAR MUSIC AND FILM AWARD held on 11 December, 2021 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Additionally, she was also honored for her song “GARCHHU MAYA GARCHHU” at the CHHAYACHHABI TEEJ MUSIC AWARD on 06 September, 2021 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her remarkable talent was further acknowledged by the NAGARIK BOARD .COM, who awarded her the title of best folk duet singer of Nepal at the NATIONAL CREATIVE CITIZEN AWARD, held on 7 April, 2023 at the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu, Nepal. She also received the prestigious best Folk-pop Singer award for her song “Fur Fur Putali” at the Sagarmatha Music Award in 2023.

On 1 February 2018, her song, known as “Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording,” was officially recognized by Guinness World Records. This remarkable achievement is attributed to her melancholy composition, titled MELANCHOLY, which featured the vocal contributions of 365 Nepali Artists. The recording took place on 19 May 2016 at Radio Nepal Studio, Singh Durbar, Kathmandu Nepal. The significance of her song extends beyond its musical prowess, as it also highlights her exceptional dedication to Sustainable Environment and Ecosystem Management (SEEM). The musical concert, featuring her prominent composition, was inaugurated by National poet Madhav Ghimire, with the esteemed presence of Rt. Hon. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Furthermore, the release of her 33 minutes and 49 seconds long song was officiated by Rt. Hon. President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari on 02 September 2017 in Kathmandu.

She holds an esteemed position as an honorary member of the Association of Music Industries of Nepal. Additionally, she served as a judge in the Genius Music Award held on 6th August 2022. Notably, the esteemed culture minister Jibanram Shreshtha graced the event as the chief guest, while the former Vice Chancellor Sambujit Baskota attended as a special guest. Furthermore, she also served as a judge in the NIM Award (National Inclusive Music Award) held on 12th March 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is worth mentioning that she is a lifetime member of both the National Folk and Duet Song Academy Nepal and the Association of Music Industries Nepal.
